The History of Our Beloved Church

Bishop Houston Miles, Senior pastor of Evangel Cathedral, now founder and president of Evangel Fellowship International, had a vision for an inner city church. In summer of 1990, Evangel Cathedral started reaching out to the inner city of Spartanburg. Under the direction of the Holy Spirit on February of 1991, Deborah Eadie, a member of Evangel Cathedral started a bible study in the inner city. During February of 1997, the bible study became New Testament Church of Spartanburg and Bishop Houston Miles ordained Deborah Eadie as Senior Pastor of the church.

On May 28, 1998, the members of New Testament Church purchased their first property on Gentry Street, Spartanburg, SC. The church consists of a variety of people from different denominational backgrounds who desire to move into what God (Jesus) is doing through the Holy Spirit in the earth today.
